In Pacha Barcelona the International Nightlife Association and entertainment luxury lifestyle firm AIM Events have announced the agreement they have recently signed. AIM Events, is one of the world’s first companies that combines world class event management with an exclusive lifestyle membership service focused on nightlife. Said agreement came to be due to the fact that nightlife clients are becoming more and more demanding while also looking for comfort and excellence. In turn, the International Nightlife Association has been betting on the quality pursued by nightlife clients through the creation of the Gold Member figure and the implementation of the Triple Excellence in Nightlife, currently the most important nightlife quality distinction existing worldwide.   According to a study conducted by the International Nightlife Association, one out of every three tourists chooses its destination based on the nightlife offer at said destination, for this the International Nightlife Association has taken a step ahead to promote excellence and quality in the industry.  On the other hand, AIM Events, originally an event management company has been offering the best extensive knowledge and skills to tailor to client's needs and has built a considerable reputation and has recently expanded their services. Specifically, AIM Events has launched the AIM All Access and AIM Seasonal memberships, being one of the first in the world to introduce such synergy between luxury and entertainment. Said memberships are focused on lifestyle and nightlife, providing exclusive benefits in nightclubs, hotels, and private aviation firms worldwide, allowing members to live a luxurious lifestyle. For this reason, both parties signed the agreement to allow AIM Events members access to INA's Gold Member venues and enjoy special rates and discounts and other advantages all in benefit of promoting excellence in nightlife. The International Nightlife Association vows to expand benefits to its Gold Member venues all around the world and also promote quality and excellence in its venues. In other words, Gold Member venues will have the chance to partner with AIM Events in order to have AIM highlight their venue to their exclusive members. This way, the AIM member will have special benefits and discounts at the venue such as VIP entry etc. and the Gold Member venue will gain access to extensive entertainment services and new clients.  Joaquim Boadas de Quintana, General Secretary of the International Nightlife Association has stated, "From the International Nightlife Association we believe that the sector needs to be proactive and constantly adapt to nightlife user's needs while assuring that the nightlife business owner has the necessary tools to do so. For this, the International Nightlife Association has created the Triple Excellence in Nightlife seal all in the benefit of our sector's image and our clients' commodity".  On the other hand, Andrey Makiyevskiy, CEO of AIM Events has mentioned, "The partnership with the INA enables our clients to benefit from the highest level of quality in nightlife whilst also enabling the venues to have exclusive access to our event management services ".

On behalf of the International Nightlife Association we strongly condemn the incident that took place at club Lanterna Azzura (Italy) where 6 people were killed. At the same time, we express our heartfelt condolences to the italian people and to the families and friends of the victims in this tragic moment as they seek to recover from this deeply disturbing tragedy. We also give all our support to our Association member in Italy (Italian Nightlife Association -SILB-) and all its members. Our Secretary General has already sent his condolences to Silb's president Mr Maurizio Pasca.   As we have been informed, six people were killed and 120 clubgoers injured in a stampede and as it seems the panic that triggered the stampede during the concert, was caused by someone using pepper-sprayed covered with a hood, so in our opinion 6 homicides have been committed. A spray can, as we have been told, has already found. The incident took place around 1am local time at the popular Lanterna Azzura club in the town of Corinaldo in the eastern Ancona Province. More than 1,000 people showed up to see Sfera Ebbasta, one of the nation’s most famous young hip hop artists.

We ask the italian authorities to start a full investigation into the facts, find out who sprayed the pepper spray and if the club has any responsibility for the deaths. As it seems the club was overcrowded and the the club bouncers told some youngs that were headind the emergency doors to go back inside. Another emergency escape door was opened but the two iron side barriers on the walkway apparently were “too narrow and people started falling over each other,” as the local police chief, Oreste Capocasa said. Joaquim Boadas de Quintana, secretary general of the International Nightlife Association will propose Italian Nightlife Association (Silb) president, Mr Maurizio Pasca, to join forces against the culprits responsible for this tragedy and also taking criminal actions against them. As he stated "the responsible for these innocent people deaths has to pay for them. Our organization is very commited to the safety and we are all the time investing more and more in safety measures, international distinctions and many other things and so we cannot let anyone damage our sector's image for free. Full investigation needs to be taken against anyone who may be responsible for this tragedy. Furthermore, more awareness raising campaigns should be run with governments support, as it seems, there's people who don't know the limits of fun".

The Nightlife Sector takes a giant leap towards digitalization

The International Nightlife Association and Discocil sign an agreement that will innovate the way of working in the sector

The new tool optimizes management, centralizes sales and provides a better understanding of customer preferences

Facing the advances of other sectors towards digitalization, the nightlife sector has not wanted to stay behind and has made a firm commitment to digital transformation. To that effect, the International Nightlife Association has signed an agreement today with the expert digital management company DISCOCIL, which will transform the way of working in the sector.

The International Nightlife Association believes that it is crucial to update the management of nightlife venues since, in many cases, valuable data that is gathered manually every night is lost as well as the feedback and preferences of clients. This information currently makes up a beneficial commercial tool for all businesses that want to maintain a high competitive level. With this new tool that is being made available to nightlife entrepreneurs, nightlife management becomes completely computerized. Its main benefits include the creation of events and the management of day to day work which allows the quality of service to increase exponentially not only towards the costumer but also their staff. What’s more, this tool not only eases the work load but makes nightclub management more efficient since everything is automatically registered, allowing the entrepreneur to take great advantage of digitized data collected since it is only in their possession and not in the hands of a third-party intermediary.

In addition, this new way of working will allow the venues to have a significant reduction in operating costs and also efficiently manage while making the most of their resources, whether the areas are intended for their customers or for their staff. This tool, besides giving the costumers the option to book products and services online, also generates a link between the venue and the clients in order to receive their feedback, being of great use for the entrepreneur wanting to improve their venues offer.

At the same time, the International Nightlife Association is preparing the launch of its new website that, in addition to including this new tool, will allow users to make on-line reservations at member establishments through an international nightlife guide. The International Nightlife Guide will highlight the venues that invest the most in security, health protection and quality of service, key information for attracting new customers. This new online booking website and the International Nightlife Guide will be available in March 2019. The great advantage of all this technological innovation is that venues will obtain greater customer loyalty by having a social network of their own; they will receive on-line bookings through a digital multimedia guide and also the evaluation of the venue according to their offer. Additionally, they will know in real time, the productivity of their public relations staff, which in turn will also be able to sell online and, in summary, will also obtain an important amount of analytics and statistics to know the evolution of their venue.

Joaquim Boadas, Secretary General of the International Nightlife Association has highly valued the signing of this agreement and has stressed the urgent need for the nightlife sector, a very important sector within the tourism macro sector, not to stay behind and start implementing the new technologies at a global level. In this sense, he stated the following: "This technological improvement will allow nightlife entrepreneurs to be more competitive in a globalized world by having tools that will allow them to attract more customers and have all the information and data necessary for decision making, all in real time".

As for Alberto Centeno, CEO of Discocil, he wanted to mention the advancement of this new tool for the nightlife sector, emphasizing the following, “Sooner or later the nightlife sector will have to endure a digital transformation and which will mark a before and after in the way nightlife works”.

The countries leading the list are The United States of America with 48 nominations and Spain with 52. Other countries with nominated clubs are the United Kingdom with 18 nominations and Brazil and China with 11. Together, these countries are leading the way in nominations for the Golden Moon Awards' “The World's Best Club 2018” prize. In all, 278 establishments have been nominated from a diverse list of countries like United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Colombia, Belgium, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, GermanyJapan, Philippines, Italy, India and Argentina among others. Nominations are still open until the 31st of August and have to be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Regarding the most famous international nightlife spots, Ibiza, host of last year's Golden Moon Awards, takes the lead with 15 nominated clubs—Hï, Ushuaïa, DC10, Blue Marlin, Heart, Km5, Amnesia, Pacha, Lío, Café Mambo, Ocean Beach, Destino, Nassau Beach Club, Sankeys and Privilege—to the list of the nominees. Las Vegas, host of the event in 2016, presents 14 nominees of its own—Omnia, Hakkasan, XS, Jewel, Foxtail SLS, Marquee, Drai's, Surrender, TAO, Light Mandalay Bay, Hyde  at Bellagio, 1OAK, Intrigue at Wynn, and Vanity— so the race is a close one. For each of the contending clubs the goal is the same: when winners are announced November 14, either crack The World's 100 Best Clubs list, or top it, taking home "The World's Best Club 2018" title. The list of "The World's 100 Best Clubs 2018" will be determined based on the votes casted beginning on September the 5th, the link to the voting page will be published on the International Nightlife Association's website. The popular vote will represent 30% of the final tally. The remaining percentage will be determined by a panel of experts who will weigh a host of factors including the clubs' 2018 agenda, security measures, VIP services, availability and ease of online booking, national and international awards or distinctions achieved, on-site acoustics and green commitment. The jury will include nightlife insiders, beverage industry experts, tour operators  executives and INA members. In a statement today, INA's General Secretary, Joaquim Boadas described the contest as a way “to encourage and incentivise nightclubs of the world to crack or even top this list”. To do that, he said, there are a multitude of options at the clubs' disposal including “investing in and upgrading facilities, services and security to make them more competitive, appealing and safe”. Boadas said such improvements would mean increased benefits for clubbers and greater prestige for the industry—“our ultimate endgame,” he confided. At last year's gala in Ibiza, the top spot went to Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, and 2016's number-one champs, Omnia Las Vegas were runners-up. Third and fourth place went to South Korea's Zouk and Las Vegas' Hakkassan. Among the other distinctions, the Golden Moon Awards will announce winners in categories like Most Developed Nightlife Business, Best Outreach and Most Nightlife-Friendly Administration. The awards, says Joaquim Boadas, "aim to improve the image of a hugely important—and famously undervalued—sector for economies and tourism". The awards gala is just one part of the 5th International Nightlife Congress, an event that enlists a broad assortment of global industry experts in unpacking  big questions currently facing the industry, including nightlife quality, music tourism and success stories like Ibiza's. The Congress welcomes speakers like Paul Seres, Former President and Founding Trustee and current Vice President of the New York City Hospitality Alliance, Juan Carlos Díaz, President of American Nightlife Association, José Luís Benítez, President of the International Nightlife Association and Director of Institutional Relations at Palladium Hotel Group, David López Assistant director of Costa Este Hospitality Group and Camilo Ospina, President of Asobares (Colombian Nightlife Association).  If you would like to propose a nomination of any club to enter the list or you are interested in attending the International Nightlife Congress and Golden Moon Awards, please contact: This email address is being protected from spambots.
