Four islands where you can party hard this summer
You’re young, you’re gorgeous and you want to party like a badass on your holidays.
But where can you go for the very best in hedonistic fun?
Here are four European islands within easy reach where the sun rarely sets on beach-loving party people.
Pag, Croatia
Cheap, cheerful and a lot of fun, this is a great place to party if money’s a bit tight. Come summer, the island of Pag is hot hot hot, but it’s also really beautiful, with fine gravelly beaches and turquoise waters.
Check out the famous Zrcé beach where huge open-air clubs right attract world-class DJs and a friendly, up-for-it crowd. Spring Break happens in early June, where clubs like Kalypso, Noa and Aquarius are overflowing with happy fun-seeking hedonists.
Ibiza, Spain
San Antonio and Playa d'en Bossa are the main party spots but there are plenty of places around the island swapping hardcore partying for boho chilling.
With beach parties for daytime raves and some of the most notorious megaclubs for a serious evening sesh, there's plenty to choose from. Legendary French DJ David Guetta comes to Pacha for the summer and the mahoosive al fresco dance-fest Ushuaïa has its opening party on May 27.
Gotland, Sweden
Sweden, for paryting? Who knew? One week every July, party kids from all over the country descend on the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea to the south of the capital for a big party extravaganza called Stockholm Week (Stockholmveckan).
The biggest and best beach club is Kallis in the old medieval town of Visby, the place for beautiful people, stunning beaches and some seriously hedonistic letting down of hair. And come July, it’s all blue skies, millpond seas and lots of sunshine.
Mykonos, Greece
The island that stole Ibiza’s crown, Mykonos is beloved of 24-hour party people who can go for it all day long then right into the night and straight though till the next morning. Popular with A-listers, slebs, fashionistas and even ordinary joes like us, this glam Greek island has a reputation for hard partying.
Paradise, Tropicana and Cavo Paradiso on Paradise beach are mega popular. There’s also a thriving gay scene with Pierro’s, Babylon, Jackie O and Lola among the most popular.
